GUILDERLAND — A dirt bike collision early Saturday morning between two 21-year-olds left one dead and the other injured, the Guilderland Police Department said in a Sunday afternoon news release.

The crash took place near the intersection of Stone and Ostrander roads in Guilderland Center just after midnight Saturday.

When authorities arrived on the scene, police performed CPR on one of the men and then paramedics treated both. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Guilderland police said Jonwilliam P. Foreman died from his injuries. Austin Wolcott is still in the hospital. Both are from Colonie. Information on Wolcott’s medical status was not immediately available, but his injuries were described by the police as “serious.”

Police said investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Known as Jon, Foreman’s Facebook page illustrates his love of dirt bikes, as he has numerous pictures of them, and himself riding them, on his page. On Aug. 27 he posted to a Facebook sales page that he was trying to sell a 2012 dirt bike “freshly rebuilt five years ago.”
