The Automotive Industrial Partnership

The UK’s automotive manufacturing industry is thriving but to ensure we remain globally competitive, having a highly skilled and adaptable workforce is critical.

The Automotive Industrial Partnership was established by the Automotive Council in 2014, bringing together leading automotive companies and government to ensure the UK’s automotive sector has the pipeline of skills talent it needs now and for the future.

Employers collaborating and driving the Partnership include Bentley, BMW, Ford, GKN, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Toyota and Vauxhall. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and employer-led skills organisation Semta are also involved.

Our Priorities

Our priorities are aligned to those in the government’s automotive industrial strategy and range from attracting more young people to careers in the industry, to supporting upskilling, progression and talent retention.

How to Secure A BIR Certificate Authorizing Registration (CAR) And Tax Clearance For The Sale Of Real Property Classified As A Capital Asset

One of the most important documents that you need in order to transfer a title of a property from the seller to the buyer is the Certificate Authorizing Registration (CAR) and Tax Clearance (TCL) from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). In this post, I’ll share a step-by-step on how to secure them.

The CAR and TCL is your proof that the proper taxes on the transaction have been paid. The Register of Deeds requires the presentation of these documents as a pre-requisite for title transfer. See sample CAR below, which is from one of my husband’s transactions (with details blurred out).

What is the process?

The first step is to have a notarized document evidencing the sale of the real property classified as a capital asset, usually a Deed of Absolute Sale. You may find samples of this document through google, including here and here.

Next, the taxes need

Physical distancing rules lead to boom for Halifax bicycle shop

A bicycle shop in Halifax says business is booming as people look for ways to stay active and keep their distance from others amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cyclesmith saw a 42 per cent increase in sales in the first half of March compared to the year before.

“If we’ve been cooped up for two weeks in self-isolation, then we can get out for a bike ride and we get the fresh air and stuff, and we don’t have to be on top of each other,” said owner Andrew Feenstra.

As of Tuesday, there are 147 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.

Cyclesmith has adopted a long list of changes to keep staff and customers safe.

Fisker Automotive – Wikipedia

Fisker Automotive was an American company known for producing the Fisker Karma, which was one of the world’s first production luxury plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. It debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show, and first deliveries were in 2011. Production of the Fisker Karma was suspended in November 2012 due to bankruptcy of its battery supplier A123 Systems,[9] with about 2,450 Karmas built since 2011 and over 2000 cars sold worldwide.[10] In February 2014, Fisker Automotive’s Karma vehicle design, tooling and a manufacturing facility in Delaware were purchased by Chinese auto parts conglomerate Wanxiang Group. Henrik Fisker, the founder of Fisker Automotive, retained the Fisker trademarks and the Fisker brand and launched a separate company, Fisker Inc., in 2016. Wanxiang later renamed its new company Karma Automotive.[11]

Commercial Driver’s License Program | FMCSA

Overview

Driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) requires a higher level of knowledge, experience, skills, and physical abilities than that required to drive a non-commercial vehicle. In order to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), an applicant must pass both skills and knowledge testing geared to these higher standards. Additionally CDL holders are held to a higher standard when operating any type of motor vehicle on public roads. Serious traffic violations committed by a CDL holder can affect their ability to maintain their CDL certification.

Licensing

Driving a commercial motor vehicle is a big responsibility. It requires special skills and knowledge. Most drivers must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) through their home State (it is illegal to have a license from more than one State). In addition, special endorsements may be required if you or your company drivers will be driving any of the following vehicles:

  • a truck with

Car sales are plunging in the US because of coronavirus

Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) announced Wednesday that its first-quarter sales in the United States fell by 10% even though sales were up the first two months of the quarter.

“Strong momentum in January and February was more than offset by the negative economic impact of the coronavirus in March,” said the company.

General Motors (GM) reported a 7% drop in sales for the quarter, which it attributed to the sharp decline in March sales because of the virus outbreak.
Neither company would release the month-by-month sales figures. But Toyota (TM) reported results for both March and the quarter. Its daily sales pace plunged 32% in March, while its overall sales in the month fell 37%, hurt in addition by one fewer sales day in the month. Overall, its first-quarter sales fell 9%, similar to the declines reported at Ford and GM. So it’s possible that
